The Department of Surgery at Loyola University Chicago (LUC) Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago’s western suburbs is seeking a full-time academic breast surgeon to join two full-time breast surgeons. The preferred candidate will join the Division of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery and will have the opportunity to practice with a multi-disciplinary oncology team, including surgical and medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast radiologists, pathologists, and a genetic counselor in providing consultative and therapeutic care to patients with surgical disease of the breast. Clinical coverage would include satellite site staffing, in addition to a base at the university.
Responsibilities include the full spectrum of breast surgical care, pre/post-surgical care, and teaching at resident and student levels. Diverse research opportunities are available and encouraged at the translational, basic science and clinical levels. For applicants with specific research accomplishments and goals, an academic position with protected research time and resources can be considered.
Candidates must be board-certified or eligible in general surgery and have completed a fellowship in breast surgery or surgical oncology.
