Assistant/Associate Professor – Surgical Oncology

Location: University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine

The Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine is seeking a board eligible breast surgeon for a full-time faculty position; academic rank to be commensurate with training and experience. Successful candidates must have completed an accredited general surgery residency, a breast surgery or surgical oncology fellowship and be board certified/eligible with the American Board of Surgery.

Essential Functions

The ideal candidate will have a focus in comprehensive Breast Surgery with both clinical and research interests. This position joins an active Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Program within the University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute, boasting triple accreditation from the NAPBC (National Accreditation Program of Breast Centers), NQMBC (National Quality Metrics of Breast Centers), and the ACR (American College of Radiology). The candidate will participate in operating room and inpatient/outpatient teaching of surgical trainees and medical students. Participation in benchtop and/or surgical outcomes research is encouraged.

Minimum Requirements

MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution; full and unencumbered license to practice medicine in Ohio; certification or eligible for Certification by the American Board of Surgery; completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in General Surgery and a SSO-approved Surgical Oncology or Breast Oncology fellowship or equivalent experience; applicants should demonstrate commitment to teaching and research.
