The Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a full-time fellowship trained Pediatric Surgeon. Interested candidates should be dynamic, innovative individuals with experience, training, or interest in expanding our fetal diagnosis and intervention program.
The successful applicant will join a division with 4 surgeons in a well-established, exciting team, and must have a strong interest in clinical practice and a demonstrated interest in research, education, and training. The ideal applicant should have a desire to build a robust and academically-focused clinical practice while being integrally involved in the education and training of general surgery residents and medical students. The candidate will continue to develop a high-acuity practice encompassing the full breadth of pediatric general surgery based primarily at the rapidly expanding American Family Children's Hospital (AFCH).
AFCH is a regionally dominant children's hospital, providing the full spectrum of neonatal and pediatric specialty services, including an ACS-verified level 1 trauma center, a PICU and level IV NICU, and full ECMO capabilities. A goal of the Division will be to continue to build and strengthen the general pediatric referral basis to the practice, attracting patients from across the state and region. The successful applicant will have an active role in medical student and resident education, and will also participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to academic rank. Within the Department of Surgery, extensive resources are available to support both clinical and basic science research interests.

MD specializing in Pediatric Surgery is required. Must be board certified or board eligible in General Surgery. Fellowship trained in Pediatric Surgery is required. Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License. Board Certification in Surgery through the American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery or equivalent. Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges.
Rank will depend on candidate's interests and academic credentials. Appointment as Associate or full Professor (CHS) will require that candidate's credentials meet criteria for rank per established University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines.
