Chief of the Division of Transplant Surgery
Location: Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
The Comprehensive Transplant Center and Department of Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seek a full-time tenure track Investigator at the rank of Professor. This position will serve as Chief of the Division of Transplant Surgery and the Director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center. Our surgeons transplant more than 400 organs each year, making the program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital among the top nationally, in patient outcomes and the number of transplants performed.
Clinical responsibilities would include the care of abdominal transplant patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Teaching responsibilities will include involvement in student, resident, and fellow education. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in securing extramural funding to support academic endeavors, which may be in the basic, translational, clinical trial or health services outcomes research.
Qualified candidates will be multi-organ transplant surgeons who have their MD, are board certified in General Surgery, have completed a 2-year ASTS accredited Abdominal Organ Transplant Fellowship, have at least ten years post-fellowship experience as an attending transplant surgeon, are eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois, and are eligible to work in the United States.
