Diversity Visiting Student Sub-Internship Program
Location: NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medicine, New York, NY
For 4th year medical students interested in surgery.
The program will be offered to one eligible student in July of 2019.
The Diversity Visiting Student Internship Program is a funded program designed to give students with a diverse background the experience of rotating as a surgical intern at Weill Cornell Medicine – Department of Surgery.
Students will be assigned to a surgical team of their preference and will function in the role of a surgical intern. Students will also be required to attend all simulation, teaching, and conferences with the house staff.
Who Should Apply?
The program is open to applicants who belong to groups that are recognized as historically underrepresented in the health profession including: African American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Hispanic American and Pacific Islander. Clerkships are four weeks in duration and are available to students who can meet the requirements of Weill Cornell Medical College.
