Surgical Oncology Research Training Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham
Location: University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, AL
This NIH-funded The Surgical Oncology Research Training Program at UAB offers two-year research fellowships for general surgery residents interested in a career in academic surgery, particularly surgical oncology careers. This program will provide promising physician-scientists with the opportunity for comprehensive translational and health services research training in a mentored multidisciplinary, collaborative environment.
In addition to a mentored research experience, with clear expectations to present and publish research results, participants will complete tailored cancer-related coursework and are exposed to an established curriculum including principles of clinical trials, research design, laboratory management, responsible conduct of research and data analysis. The training program fosters the development of knowledge, competence, skills, professional attitudes, and experience required for successful academic careers in surgical oncology research.
We are currently accepting applications for positions to begin July 2019.
